The things I want to change:
What I Stand For & How We Fix the System:
1. Stop Burying Bills: The 90-Day Guarantee
Politicians love to hide behind committee chairs who bury good bills so nobody has to take a tough vote. That ends with me. I support a strict rule requiring every introduced bill to get an open, public vote on the floor within 90 days. No more letting legislation die quietly behind closed doors to protect special interests. Your representatives should be forced to go on record with a simple YES or NO so you actually know where they stand.
2. Local Control: Home Rule Means Local Decisions
State government shouldn’t be micromanaging our towns and cities. The people who live and work in our community know what we need far better than bureaucrats sitting in state offices. Home rule is simple. Decisions affecting our daily lives should be made locally by the people accountable to us, not passed down as one-size-fits-all mandates from above.
3. Clean Water & Air: Protect What Matters
Clean air to breathe and fresh, safe water to drink aren’t optional. They are basic essentials. We cannot allow corporate polluters or weak regulations to put our natural resources or public health at risk. I will fight to protect our local water supply and hold polluters accountable because taking care of our environment today is the only way to protect our kids tomorrow.
4. Standing with Working People
A strong economy starts with the people doing the work. Working families deserve fair pay, safe job sites, and the absolute right to organize and bargain collectively without corporate interference. When workers succeed, our whole local economy thrives. I won’t back down when it comes to defending labor rights and keeping good-paying jobs right here in our district.
5. Ending Government Secrecy: Real FOIA Transparency
Right now, state politicians and top executive officials enjoy exemptions from the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), allowing them to hide emails, calendars, and backroom deals from the public. That is unacceptable. I am committed to stripping away those blanket exemptions so that government records are open to the people who pay for them. If you work for the public, your work should be open to public view.
